The Shortest Most Powerful Prayer | |||
Sayyiduna Abbas, the uncle of the Prophet came to the Prophet and asked: | |||
"Ya Rasulallah, teach me a Du'à." | |||
The Prophet said: | |||
"O my uncle, say: | |||
اللهم إني أسألك العافية | |||
Allahumma inni as'alukal-āfiyah | |||
(O Allah, I ask you for Afiyah)." | |||
Now, what is Afiyah? | |||
Afiyah means - | |||
1. To save oneself from any afflictions. | |||
2. To be healthy, one is in Afiyah. | |||
3. To have enough money, one is in Afiyah. 4. To live, one is in Afiyah. | |||
5. To have ones children protected is Afiyah. | |||
6. And if one is forgiven and not punished, then he is in Ãfiyah." | |||
"O Allah, protect me from any pain and suffering." | |||
