1. Waiting period (normally 130 days) before a woman may remarry (applies both to divorcees and to widows, but for the latter, the more exact term is takaba). <> ƙayyadaddun watanni da bazawara kan zauna bayan mijinta ya sake ta kafin ta sake yin wani aure.

   Sa'an nan idan sun isa ga ajalinsu (na idda)... <> And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term... [1][2]

2. The period a woman must wait before she is able to remarry. The point of the waiting period is to ascertain whether or not the woman is pregnant from her prior marriage. [3]
