1. (a) En deavouring to ingratiate oneself with another in order to obtain a favour.

(b) kakalam magana gare shi, (i) he is always trying to pick a quarrel (= kakalam fa'da gare shi); (ii) he is always trying to get into conver sation with people.

(c) kakalan dangi ya ke yi, he is making out that he is somehow related (distantly) to official or influential pepple. (= neman dangi.)
