  6. Iran on Monday August 15 denied any links with the attacker of the UK author Salman Rushdie but blamed the writer for insulting Islam in his writings. Iran Foreign Ministry spokesperson Naseer Kanaani said this during a weekly media briefing.
  7. Iran Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has blasted US' recent allegations against Iran that it plotted to assassinate a former American national security adviser. He urged the US to give up the habit of threatening Iran. Mr Abdollahian made the remarks in a tweet apparently reacting to recent accusations levelled against Iran by the US about an alleged plot to kill John Bolton.
  8. Mali arraigned detained 49 Ivorian soldiers before a court and charged them of illegally entering the country. A judge ordered the detention of soldiers in prison.
  9. Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, called for the formation of a united front against the Israeli regime's act of aggression on Palestinians. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qaaem made the call following the latest Israeli wave of airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.
  10. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has said Iran would respond by midnight on Monday Aug 15 to the final text drafted by the EU, urging the US to show flexibility in resolving remaining issues and save the 2015 Iranian nuclear pact.

The US Justice Department earlier alleged that an Iranian, Mr Shahram Poursafi, was likely motivated to kill Mr Bolton in retaliation for the death of Qassem Soleimani, a commander of Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps killed in a US drone strike.
  6. Iranian civil aviation chief Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh on Weds Aug 10 said Iran would need to revise a major aircraft supply contract with Airbus in case the 2 parties return to the deal after a potential removal of US sanctions on Iran.
