1. Something is over when it has finished, usually referring to an event. <> ƙarewar ko gamawar abu

   The play is over. <> An gama wasan daɓe.

   When the movie was over we left the movie theater. <> Mun bar gidan silima a lokacin da fim ɗin ya ƙare.

   Is the meeting over? <> An gama taron?

2. In a location above something. <> bisa kan, a, a kan
   • Synonyms: above and superior to
   • Antonyms: below, inferior to and under

   He stepped over the dog. <> Ya tsallake karen.

3. From one side to the other. <> zuwa daga waje zuwa wani wajen; ƙetare

   They went over the bridge.

4. To the someone's house.

   They had him over for tea.

5. (math) A number divided by another.

6. In excess of, more than <> sama da, fiye da
