I. [kaf]; kap.
1. {adv.}. Emphasizes
(a) Completeness of finishing or gathering together. e.g. ya/ k'are kaf, it is absolutely finished. ya/ cinye kaf, he has eaten (it) all. jama'a ta/ taru kaf, all the people expected have assembled. ya/ faskare shi kaf, he has split all of it (the woodj. (Cf. fafaratan.)
(b) Security of hold. e.g. tarko ya/ kama shi kaf, the trap held it fast.
2. {n.m.}. A blow, stroke. e.g. kaf'daya va sare shi, he felled him with one stroke (of sword).
II. [ka^f] {n.m.}. The sound of felling or chopping wood. e.g. sei na ji k., I heard the sound of wood being chopped.
