Islamic Guide to Sexual Relations by Muhammad ibn Adam Al-Kawthari [1][2][3]

  1. In answering questions from the public over the past five years or so, I have come across many individuals who desire to know the Islamic ruling on matters of sexual intimacy between spouses. Aided by the relative anonymity of email as a medium of communication, questioners have opened up and began to pose frank questions courageously without being shy and without the fear of being humiliated.
  2. ...in light of the teachings of the Qur'an, Sunna, reference works from the four Sunni Schools of Islamic law, and other works of classical and contemporary scholars
  3. a woman's sexual desire reaches its peak directly after the completion of her menstrual cycle.
  4. When a female companion was married off and inquired about her husband... She would say to him, "An excellent man! A man who has not slept with us in bed nor removed the veil from us since we came to him!" (page 16/25 in pdf) ... Somewhat similar to the hadith of Ibrahim AS visiting his son's home and getting a complaining ungrateful wife then her opposite.
  5. Imam al-Ghazali holds that it is religiously obligatory for a man to have sex with his wife once every four nights.
  6. It is recommended for men to use perfume when attending public gatherings, particularly for Friday and 'ld prayers, as authentically established from many Prophetic narrations. This allows a Muslim to benefit others by his pleasant fragrance, and it is in this context that applying perfume is considered an act of charity...
    1. it is not permitted for women to go out wearing perfume, as the Messenger of Allah /b firmly forbade it in rigorously authenticated (sahih}) hadiths.
    2. it is permitted to use mainstream perfumes, deodorants and creams even if they contain alcohol, because the alcohol contained in them is from other than grapes, dates and barley. In many products, synthetic alcohol formulated from chemical substances is used which, according to the fatwa position in the Hanafi School, is not impure (najis).
  7. The hair which grows on the cheeks or throat of a man is not considered to be part of his beard, for a beard is that which grows on the jawbone. As such, it is permitted for a man to remove hair from the cheeks by shaving or trimming it. (Radd al-Mu}J,tar 6:407 and Al-Fatawa al-Hindiyya 5:358) ... The husband should also ensure that he shaves or at least trims his moustache.
  8. Treat them fairly. If you happen to dislike them, you may hate something which Allah turns into a great blessing. --Quran/4/19 [4]
  9. "From these two prayers [i.e. the supplication before commencing sex and the supplication at the time of ejaculating], it can be deduced that exactly at the time when one is busy gratifying one's carnal desires and engaged in an act even the mention of which is considered a matter of shame, one has been taught to keep one's relationship with Allah Most High foremost in the mind, and not to hesitate supplicating before Him. Thus, what was a sensual act has been turned into an act of worship." (Radiant Prayers P: 65)
    1. Allahumma jannibnash-shaytiin, wa jannibish-shaytiina ma razaqtana
O Allah! Protect us from Satan and protect what you grant us from Satan.
    2. Du'a when Ejaculating:
Allahumma la taf alli ash-shaytiini fimii razaqtanii na!jiban
O Allah! Do not grant the Satan a share in what [children] You bless us with
  10. "O Allah! Bless my family for me, and bless me for my family. O Allah! Unite us with good, and separate us, if you do, with good." (Tabarani in his Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir g:204, and 'Abd al-Razzaq in his Al-Musannaj 6:83)

Thursday (2023-07-06) Dua 177 [5]

(177) O Allah, watch over me with Your Eye that never sleeps,

(177) Allahummah-rusni bi‘aynikal-lati la tanam(u),

  1. Relates to ayatul-kursi Quran/2/255
  2. Relates to Al-Baseer The All-Seeing [6]. What other names can relate to this? The Ever Watchful? ASH-SHAHEED / ASH-SHAHID (The All Observing Witnessing [7])

protect me with Your unassailable patronage, and forgive me by virtue of Your power over me so that I may not perish. You are my Hope. How many a bounty there is with which You have favored me; yet little has been my gratitude for that. And how many a trial have You tested me with; yet little has been my patience with that. O the One for Whose bounties my gratitude has been little, yet He did not deprive me. O the One against Whose trial I showed little patience, yet He did not abandon me. O the One Who saw me committing mistakes yet He did not disgrace me.

Friday (2023-07-07) Dua 192 [8]

O the Comforter (Mai lallashi) of every lonely person; O the Companion of every person who is alone; O the One Who is near and not remote; O the One Who is present and not away; O the One Who overcomes all and is not overcome; O the Living, the Eternal (dua/Ya_Hayyu_Ya_Qayyum), it is Your (special) mercy I seek. Ease all my affairs and do not leave me to my nafs for even the blinking of an eye.
